Penrith Women’s Health Centre (PWHC) is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Manager Safety and Empowerment Services to lead our Safety and Empowerment Services specialist team.

PWHC Safety and Empowerment Services team supports women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. We are committed to using a trauma informed client centred approach to empower and support women. The Manager Safety and Empowerment Services is responsible for managing a team of dedicated Domestic and Family Violence Case Workers and maintaining a small case load. Our work is guided by the various national, state and local plans to reduce violence against women and their children and the Staying Home Leaving Violence program.

We are looking for an applicant with strong personnel management, financial management, DFV case management and reporting skills.

  • Part time - 30 hours per week
  • Fixed-term - contract ending 30 June 2031
  • Penrith and outreach locations required for service delivery
  • Incorporates a part-time client case load

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, community services, welfare or related discipline, and 5 years sector experience.
  • Proven capability in managing staff and providing supervision in a community services or DFV setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage KPIs, reporting and contract deliverables.
  • Experience supporting intake, triage, workload allocation or service coordination functions.
  • Demonstrated specialist experience working with women and children impacted by domestic and family violence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex casework, risk assessment, safety planning, advocacy and coordinated support.
  • Demonstrated capacity to mentor, coach or support less experienced staff and contribute to practice quality.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, client-centred, strengths-based and culturally appropriate practice.
  • High-level communication, documentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural safety and the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality, privacy, mandatory reporting and professional boundaries in DFV practice.

Desirable

  • Experience in SHLV, outreach or community-based DFV service delivery.
  • Understanding of feminist principles and values in service delivery.
  • Previous experience in a not-for-profit or community services setting.

  • PWHC considers being a woman a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 31 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check.

We provide safety and empowerment services including domestic and family violence case management, brokerage, case coordination, education and social groups.
