As part of their services that span across QLD, True are the lead agency for the Cairns Sexual Assault Service (CSAS). This is a free and confidential service funded by the QLD Government that provides therapeutic counselling and groupwork, outreach services, psychoeducation and information as well as holistic support and advocacy for anyone affected by sexual violence.

As the Clinical Services Manager – Sexual Assault Services, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring individuals, families, and communities affected by sexual violence have access to high-quality, trauma-informed support, prevention, and recovery services.

Reporting into the Director of Nursing & Health Services, you will oversee daily operations of Cairns Sexual Assault Service (CSAS) and be responsible for clinical oversight, governance and strategic implementation of True’s counselling and community engagement objectives in Far North Queensland. Alongside this you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Therapists and Practitioners to develop integrated prevention, response, and recovery support to alleviate the harmful impact of sexual abuse.

This is a pivotal role for a Clinical Leader who wants to work within the Senior Leadership Team at True and drive change in the Cairns community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide operational leadership for Sexual Assault Counselling Services, ensuring programs are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with funding, contractual, legislative, and accreditation requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Embed and strengthen trauma-informed, evidence-based practice, ensuring services reflect contemporary best practice and deliver positive outcomes for clients and communities.
  • Provide clinical governance oversight, supporting quality assurance, risk management, case review processes, service evaluation, and compliance with professional and ethical standards.
  • Monitor service performance and outcomes, using data and evaluation to inform decision-making, improve service delivery, and demonstrate impact.
  • Manage program budgets, reporting, and funding contracts, ensuring services operate within agreed financial parameters and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, health services, community organisations, and sector stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and community outcomes.
  • Contribute as a senior organisational leader, actively participating in strategic planning, organisational initiatives, governance activities, and decision-making that support True's vision, values, and long-term sustainability.
  • Champion a culture of safeguarding, ensuring all services operate within True's child safety, vulnerable persons, risk management, and workplace health and safety frameworks.

You are an accomplished people leader with a strong background in mental health, counselling, health or community services and a commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.

YOU WILL BRING

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical, counselling, mental health or community services.
  • Relevant qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Health or Behavioural Sciences
  • Registration (or eligibility) with a governing body (AASW, AHPRA, PACFA, ACA, ACWA)
  • Experience leading and managing funded programs
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic frameworks for children, young people and adults.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant state and federal legislation governing sexual violence
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a focus on building capability, accountability and team wellbeing.
