ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

In 2021, Domestic Violence Victoria (DV Vic) and the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) merged to become a new entity – Safe and Equal. Connecting strength, capacity, and resources for greater impact, Safe and Equal is the peak body for Victoria’s specialist family violence services supporting victim survivors.

THE ROLE

The Sector Development Unit supports workforce, practice and industry development for the specialist family violence sector.

The Leadership Program Manager role will work to establish a leadership network at Safe and Equal and develop and test a pilot program providing coaching and/or mentoring for the specialist family violence sector.

Here are some examples of what you will achieve in the next 12 months as the Leadership Program Manager;

  • Lead and effectively manage all aspects of the project including documentation of project strategy, planning, budgets, communications, stakeholder engagement plans and reporting
  • Work closely with colleagues across the organisation to design the leadership network
  • Coordinate and lead regular meetings with Family Safety Victoria and contribute to state-wide governance as required
  • Establish a leadership alumni network at Safe and Equal including consideration of cohort needs, evaluation and sustainability considerations
  • Co-design and pilot a bespoke range of leadership programs for the specialist family violence sector in partnership with specialist leadership development
  • Develop frameworks, resources and training to upskill a range of leaders in organisational leadership skills suited to particular levels in family violence agencies

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. public policy, community development, social work, law) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent relationship management and coordination skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience in leadership development
  • Sound project management skills including the ability to source, analyse and present complex information
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Well-developed problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly for a variety of purposes
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation, consultation and meeting facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage time independently, prioritise and manage competing demands, with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail
