CAWLS is a highly respected provider of legal, social support, financial capability and community education services for women across Central Australia and the Barkly region. Working closely with the Board and Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership, governance oversight and operational management of our multidisciplinary organisation.

About the Role

As CEO, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of CAWLS' strategic vision and objectives.
  • Support effective governance in partnership with the Board.
  • Oversee organisational performance, financial sustainability and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder, community and funding relationships.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Drive innovation, service development and continuous improvement.

About You

You are an experienced executive leader with:

  • Legal qualifications and a current practising certificate (or ability to obtain one).
  • At least 10 years' experience as a legal practitioner.
  • Senior leadership experience within legal, community, government or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Strong governance, financial management and organisational leadership capability.
  • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, partnership development and securing funding.
  • A commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and client-centred practice.
  • A strong understanding of gender inequality, domestic and family violence, and access to justice issues.

Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and knowledge of Central Australian issues will be highly regarded.
