About the role

The Program Director Education Programs and Partnerships leads strategic operations and partnerships across the Education Portfolio, driving innovation, community engagement, and business development to expand AMES Australia's reach and impact.

As part of the Education Leadership Team, this position is responsible for and drives the strategic implementation of delivery of the Education Program, managing programs and ensuring educational pathways are integrated and delivered for all AMES Australia clients. The position includes leading strategic engagement with key external stakeholders including education delivery partners, industry and community. It will also lead business development, identifying new delivery opportunities and locations for delivery.

Importantly the position will ensure a high level of client experience in our educational delivery and that the program remains financially viable.

To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria

  • Minimum of a Degree in Education, Business, Management or related field; AND
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a business development and/or operational role with diverse and complex stakeholders (including multicultural community and government agencies) in settlement or education environments, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in an educational environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in the design, organisation, delivery and development of adult education services to meet diverse client needs within parameters of relevant quality standards, legislative and contractual obligations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and to lead the delivery of high standards of customer service
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop high performing teams, coach, mentor and manage the performance of employees to meet complex and diverse client needs
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to develop and promote/market innovative approaches to diverse clients and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strong Business Development skills in maintaining and growing current business levels according to negotiated growth targets
  • Demonstrated financial management skills including the ability to analyse performance data, manage staffing allocations, achieve program budgets and financial viability
  • Proven ability to manage change, motivating staff through the change process, and delivering on process improvements and planned outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict, and to communicate across all levels of an organisation
  • Understanding of the principles of language pedagogy, adult learning and the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant communities, programs and services, and their connections
  • Ability to lead colleagues in the use and value of an extensive range of teaching strategies and resources, including ICT, to optimize learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary community development and community engagement methodologies including co-design and consumer participation
  • It is a mandatory requirement for the position holder to have and maintain a current Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
  • A current valid Driver’s Licence will be required for this role
