  • Be part of a national feminist organisation
  • Join a passionate and enthusiastic team
  • Support the safety and wellbeing of women and families

We are a proudly feminist not-for-profit organisation and for over 140 years we have been working at the forefront of gender equality through our housing, community programs and advocacy. Our five-year plan has a focus on making young women’s leadership and women’s housing our priority for gender equity in Australia. This will ensure we continue to deliver measurable and meaningful impact towards a future where gender equality is a reality.

YWCA NT has been supporting women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and women from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, in the Territory since 1969. We provide local housing, services and support programs that enable women, their families and other priority groups to find stability and feel safe and secure, so they can build the future they want.

We are seeking a dedicated Coordinator to lead the delivery of Domestic and Family Violence Centre (DFVC) safe house, Outreach and Keeping Women Safe in Their Homes programs.

In this full-time role you will:

  • Ensure the DFVC team undertakes intake assessments, CRAT assessments, crisis-intervention, safety planning, and holistic support to clients
  • Lead and provide supervision to the DFVC team
  • Meet the contractual obligations of the funding agreement such as evaluation, data collection and ensure all organisational reporting requirements are met
  • Establish, build and maintain external agency networks and relationships to improve service delivery

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences or Social Work (post graduate qualifications are highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing people to build capability
  • Experience in a similar role with demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the domestic and family violence sector, including legislation, governance, policy, and processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels based on trust and collaboration

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

  • Completion of a national criminal history check
  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.

Don’t meet every single requirement? At YWCA Australia we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If this role speaks to you but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.

Please contact [email protected] using the subject line: Coordinator, Domestic and Family Violence Programs enquiry via EthicalJobs at any time during the recruitment process if you require assistance to fully participate.
