WRISC Family Violence Support is seeking a dedicated and passionate Aboriginal Program Team Leader and Case Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity.

Working within a holistic framework you will provide vital support to Aboriginal women, children and families who have experienced Family Violence. Your understanding of the sensitivities with working in the Aboriginal Community will be crucial as you provide the critical care and support that is needed at times when they're at their most vulnerable and at risk.

Appealing to a creative and dynamic leader with the capacity to influence and bring about positive change, you will contribute to our organisation by:

  • Promoting women and children's safety, self-determination and well-being
  • Preventing and intervening early to address homelessness
  • Supporting a holistic approach to family violence within the Aboriginal community
  • Empowering families through self-determination and walking beside them on their journey
  • Strengthening our collaborative working relations between the WRISE and Ballart & District Aboriginal Co Operative, the Dhelk Dja Regional Group and other services

You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in social work, community service or related discipline paired with:

  • Considerable work experience in the family violence and/or community services sector and/or Aboriginal community
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership including supervision, performance appraisal and CQI, fostering of positive workplace health and culture
  • Extensive theoretical knowledge and demonstrated application of the dynamics and context of family violence, relevant legislation as well as models of intervention and standards of practice
