The Working Women’s Centre SA is looking for a casual Education and Training Officer to assist with delivering workplace training, while one of our regular ongoing Education and Training Officers is on an approved three-month leave of absence. The ideal candidate is an experienced facilitator who is seeking sporadic, casual training work.

The rate of pay for this position is $78.93 per hour.

The Training Officer will deliver workplace training and education that creates safer and fairer workplaces and improves the lives of working women. Our two key training workshops are:  

  • Respect the Line: Prevent and Address Workplace Sexual Harassment
  • When Violence Comes to Work: Recognise and Respond to Domestic and Family Violence in the Workplace

Essential selection criteria

  • Experience in Adult Education and Training: The candidate is experienced in delivering adult education and training programs, particularly training related to workplace rights, workplace culture, gender inequality or gender-based violence.
  • Facilitation Skills: The candidate is skilled in facilitating workshops in a way that employs feminist and adult learning principles, accommodates different learning styles, and manages group dynamics.
  • Understanding of Gender Based Violence: The candidate has experience and understanding of issues related to Gender Based Violence, including workplace sexual harassment, domestic, family and sexual violence, and prevention of violence.
  • Creating Positive Learning Environments: The candidate has an established approach to creating a positive and safe learning environment, with clear strategies to handle challenging attitudes and behaviours respectfully during training sessions.  

Desirable selection criteria

  • Customising Training Programs: The candidate has experience modifying training courses to meet client needs and tailor programs for various industries.
  • Client Relationship Management: The candidate has experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Promotional Skills: The candidate has the skills to assist the WWC SA in obtaining new training clients or increasing training bookings. 
  • Understanding of Unions: The candidate has a strong understanding of the role of unions in securing better workplace rights and conditions.
