About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Counsellor to become part of our Children, Youth and Family Services team. The role is dynamic and diverse, working with women, children and young people from a variety of backgrounds with experience of Family Violence. You will be required to work within a cultural diversity framework ensuring the needs of all groups and individuals are understood and met in a sensitive way.

About you

To be successful in your application, you will meet the person specification in the position description, including having a Bachelor qualification in Social Work/Qualification in Counselling or equivalent tertiary related field.

You will also have:

  • Well-developed knowledge of working in the children, youth and families sector with experience of supporting women, children and young people who have experience of family violence.
  • Strong background in counselling and group work skills.
  • Excellent assessment and communication abilities and knowledge of MARAM framework and related legislation
  • Outstanding customer service, effective time management and organisational ability are hallmarks of this position.
