About us

The Women’s Housing Company (WHC) Limited is a specialist provider of housing and homelessness services for women with and without children.  

We are a registered charity and Tier 1 Community Housing Provider managing over 1200 properties providing housing, accommodation and support for women. 

About the role

The General Manager, Corporate Services and Finance is a member of the Executive Team and acts as the Chief Financial Officer for the Company.  The role also leads compliance, reporting and monitoring; risk management; and information technology  and business systems.  This role is pivotal to ensuring long-term sustainability and growth of the WHC.

The General Manager assumes the role of Company Secretary, Public Officer and other official positions as required on behalf of the Company. 

This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and provides leadership and direction to three teams:  Finance, Business Systems and Risk and Compliance.  There is the potential for this role to grow to include other functions in future. 

This role works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the executive to provide enabler functions that provide housing service delivery, homelessness services, community engagement, property and asset management, people and culture and communications. 

This role leads: 

  • Funding strategy, budgeting, financial reporting and compliance 
  • Risk management, assurance and compliance 
  • Governance, legal and insurance 
  • Business systems and information technology and security 

About you

If you are a dynamic and strategic leader who thrives on working in collaboration to grow, transform and shape business strategies and systems and achieve best practice, this role is for you!

You will have qualifications in accounting and be a qualified CPA or CA, holding a current professional membership. Other qualifications in business, law or finance will be highly regarded. 

We’re looking for someone with extensive experience as a successful executive leader in finance and/or corporate services. 

You will have a background that includes a strong governance and risk management focus and have a track record in managing complex business project and improvement. 

Experience in the not-for-profit or community housing sectors is a significant advantage in this role.

Mandatory National Police check required.
