WASH House is a community-based resource centre for women in the Blacktown LGA operating for over 43 years. Our mission is to reduce the impact of poverty, social disadvantage and violence on the lives of women and girls.
Services provided include information and referrals, case support and case management, skill building and therapeutic groups, advocacy and various community development activities.
The Community Engagement Worker is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organisations. This role promotes community participation and education, identifies local needs and priorities, and supports the delivery of programs and services that enhance community wellbeing. The position involves planning and facilitating engagement activities, providing information and referrals, gathering community feedback, and advocating for inclusive and accessible services. The Community Engagement Worker acts as a key liaison between the WASH House and the community, fostering collaboration, trust, and meaningful participation to achieve positive social outcomes.
You are a highly motivated woman driven by feminist principles and a deep passion for empowering other women and girls. With exceptional communication skills and a strong sense of empathy, you connect easily with individuals and groups. Your experience in coordinating and delivering impactful training programs, along with your talent for building relationships and networking within the community, will enable you to inspire and uplift those around you.
