The FASS is a specialist family violence service that provides legal, emotional and social support to clients affected by family violence in the Family Law courts. The FASS comprises a partnership between Legal Aid NSW duty lawyers and social support workers. For women, The FASS are provided by the Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services (WDVCAS). This is a new service for the Coffs Harbour Family Law Court Circuit.
We are seeking to employ a Family Advocacy Support Service (FASS) Worker on a permanent 35 hour per week position. In this role you will provide high quality trauma informed casework, safety planning and support to our clients. The program is targeted to support women currently engaged with the Family Court System and who are either affected by family violence or who have allegations of family violence against them.
Being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
