Help shape the future of walking in Victoria

Victoria Walks is seeking two new Board Directors with expertise in either public health or transport and mobility to help guide the organisation through its next phase of growth and influence.

As Victoria's peak body for walking, we work to create healthier, safer and more connected communities by influencing the policies, infrastructure and investment decisions that shape everyday walking.

Following the launch of our Strategic Plan 2026–2030, we are focused on driving systems change to create communities where walking is safe, easy and part of everyday life.

About the Role

As a Non-Executive Director, you will contribute to the strategic leadership, governance and long-term sustainability of Victoria Walks.

Working alongside an engaged Board and experienced leadership team, you will help strengthen our influence, partnerships and impact across Victoria.

We are particularly interested in leaders who can bring strategic insight, sector expertise, strong networks and a commitment to creating healthier, more walkable communities.

We are seeking expertise in:

Public Health

• Public health, preventive health, health promotion or population health
• Health policy, research or advocacy
• Government health systems

Transport and Mobility

• Transport planning or policy
• Active transport and mobility
• Urban planning and place-making
• Infrastructure and investment planning

Highly Regarded Experience

• Public policy and advocacy
• Governance and board leadership
• Strategy and organisational growth
• Fundraising, partnerships and revenue diversification
• Financial management or risk management
• Stakeholder engagement and communications

Board Commitment

The Board meets six times per year, with two additional strategy sessions.
