About the Opportunity

As Area Manager, you'll partner with Service Directors and Coordinators to build financially sustainable, high-performing Early Learning services across a diverse portfolio of Long Day Care, Preschool and OSHC services.

Working closely with the Early Learning Operations Manager, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership with a strong focus on business performance, occupancy growth, budgeting, workforce planning and financial accountability. You'll coach and support leaders to confidently manage their services as successful businesses while maintaining exceptional quality, compliance and child-safe practices.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Early Childhood leader who enjoys analysing performance, identifying opportunities for growth and helping others achieve strong commercial and operational outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Directors and Coordinators to achieve occupancy, revenue and budget targets
  • Analyse financial and operational performance and develop strategies to improve service sustainability
  • Coach leaders in budgeting, workforce planning, resource management and business decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial performance and service delivery
  • Support services to maintain compliance with legislative, regulatory and National Quality Framework requirements
  • Lead performance conversations and develop action plans to address operational challenges
  • Support growth opportunities, business development initiatives and new service opportunities
  • Foster strong leadership capability and high-performing teams across your portfolio
  • Managing child protection matters, quality improvement initiatives and service performance
  • Building positive, high-performing and engaged teams
  • Supporting business development opportunities, new services and strategic projects
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen service delivery and community outcomes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Degree qualifications in Early Childhood or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the Early Childhood sector
  • Previous experience as a Director of an Early Childhood service
  • Experience leading operations across multiple services or sites
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and financial management capability
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian Early Childhood sector, funding models and legislative requirements
  • A passion for delivering high-quality outcomes for children, families and communities
  • Exceptional relationship-building, communication and stakeholder management skills
