About the position

Southern Family Violence Programs and Services operates across multiple sites to deliver high quality services to women and children who are experiencing, at risk of experiencing or recovering from Family Violence in the Bayside Peninsula Area.

Southern Family Violence Programs and Services works with service users from a feminist perspective, aiming to empower and increase the safety of women and children. All staff are required to work within a trauma informed practice environment, and are expected to work creatively towards ensuring that the safety and support needs of all women and children accessing the services are the first priority.

This position will be required to:

  • Support women and children referred via The Orange Door and Risk Assessment and Management Panels (RAMP)
  • Carry a caseload of up to 13 cases
  • Respond to women and children presenting in crisis who have experienced family violence
  • Regularly complete and review comprehensive family violence risk assessments and safety plans
  • Work collaboratively with Victoria Police and other community organisations and stakeholders to manage risk
  • Facilitate therapeutic support groups as required
  • Attend relevant network meetings as required

This position is based out of Windsor however provides outreach to the Bayside Peninsula area. The position is a full time, fixed term position to 26 February 2021. 

Required Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work / Social Sciences or related fields is essential
  • Experience working in the family violence sector is desirable

Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements

  • Working with Children Check
  • Mandatory National Police Check
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences or related field is essential
