Refuge Victoria is a not-for-profit Specialist Family Violence Organisation that provides refuge/crisis accommodation and support to women and children as they begin their journeys to a safer and happier future. We have been responding to family violence and changing people’s stories for over 40 years. Refuge Victoria is the largest provider of refuge/crisis accommodation in Victoria with three core and cluster refuges, 15 refuge properties and nomination rights to 35 Transitional Houses. We support women and children experiencing homelessness from family violence, providing refuge and crisis accommodation, risk assessment and case management support and outreach case management support to clients in transitional properties and/or private rental.
Family Violence has a profound impact on the health outcomes victim survivors. As a vital member of our service delivery team, the Nurse (Community Health Promotion) will play a crucial role in implementing and expanding the health and wellness program for our clients at Refuge Victoria. Your expertise will contribute to breaking down barriers and encouraging individuals to lead healthier lives beyond using our services. The program is designed to empower clients with the essential tools and information needed to lead fulfilling and free lives post-service. The Nurse Educator will focus on facilitating access to appropriate healthcare for individuals and their families, emphasising health priorities and education to promote long-term well-being for our clients and their families.
