About the role

As our Group Facilitator, you’ll co-facilitate the ‘Taking Responsibility’ group within our accredited Men’s Behaviour Change (MBC) program, working directly with men who use violence.

This is a pivotal role in creating a safe, therapeutic group environment that promotes accountability and supports meaningful, sustained behavioural change. Working as part of a mixed-gender co-facilitation team, you will engage men using an invitational, therapeutic approach while maintaining a strong focus on accountability, safety, and respectful relationships.

You will work within a feminist, trauma-informed, and family safety framework, ensuring that the needs and safety of women, children, and families remain central. As part of a multidisciplinary model, you’ll collaborate closely with co-facilitators and the Family Safety team to deliver coordinated, evidence-informed interventions that reduce harm and support long-term change.

The details:

  • Casual contract (some evening work required)
  • Opportunities available in Maitland, Newcastle, Online
  • $48.56 - $54.24 per hour (depending on skills & experience) + 30% casual loading + 12% super + 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900. (Increase your take home pay. Calculate Your Savings)

What you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with families impacted by domestic and family violence
  • Experience in group facilitation, casework, or counselling, ideally with men who use violence or within behaviour change programs
  • Ability to work within a feminist, trauma-informed, and family safety framework, maintaining a strong focus on accountability
  • Confidence facilitating groups using invitational, therapeutic, and accountability-based approaches, and managing complex group dynamics
  • Strong skills in risk assessment and response, with the ability to collaborate effectively with co-facilitators and multidisciplinary teams to support victim-survivor safety
