The Queensland Sexual Assault Network (QSAN) is the new peak body for specialist sexual violence support and prevention services across Queensland.

We work with specialist sexual violence services, government, community organisations and people with lived experience of sexual violence to strengthen responses to sexual violence, build workforce capability, influence policy reform and improve outcomes for victim-survivors across Queensland.

We are seeking a values-led, people-focused Prevention and Community Education Coordinator to help lead statewide prevention and education initiatives.

This role offers the chance to support a safer, more informed Queensland through grassroots prevention, community education and evidence-informed action.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Services and Member Engagement, this role will lead community education and prevention initiatives that raise awareness of sexual violence, challenge harmful attitudes and improve access to specialist support services.

The role works with QSAN members, community organisations, industry partners and lived experience representatives to support locally led, culturally safe and accessible prevention responses across Queensland.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Design and deliver community education and prevention initiatives
  • Collaborate with QSAN members on place-based prevention activities
  • Build partnerships with community organisations, member services and stakeholders
  • Support public awareness and prevention campaigns
  • Implement a Lived Experience participation plan
  • Coordinate education sessions, events and evaluation activities

About You

You are an engaging and values-driven professional with experience in community education, prevention, training or community development.

You will also bring:

  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills including leading Lived Experience engagement
  • Experience working with diverse communities and adapting content for different audiences
  • Knowledge of sexual violence, trauma-informed practice and feminist frameworks
  • Experience developing educational resources, campaigns or prevention activities
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to social justice principles

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are required.

Experience working in or alongside the specialist sexual violence sector, community services or peak bodies will be highly regarded.

Location and Conditions

  • This role can be based anywhere in Queensland (hybrid working arrangements if based in Brisbane)
  • Permanent full-time position (4 days per week considered)
  • SCHADS Award Level 6
