PWHC is seeking a Health Promotion Officer to support our centre health and wellbeing groups, community development and health education activities. The Health Promotion Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating funded health promotion, health education, community development and group-based activities that improve women’s health literacy, social inclusion, wellbeing and access to preventative health support. Working within the Health and Wellbeing Services team, the role works across PWHC’s broad client population, with a focus on priority populations, and is accountable for ensuring activities are planned, documented, delivered and reviewed in line with PWHC policy, contractual reporting requirements, internal documentation standards and continuous quality improvement principles.

• Part time (30 hours per week)
• Fixed-term until 30 June 2027

Selection Criteria

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in health promotion, public health policy, social science, social work, community development, community services or a related field, or equivalent health promotion sector experience.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, facilitate and evaluate health promotion activities, community education, groups or community-based projects.
• Demonstrated understanding of health promotion principles, the social determinants of women’s health and health equity approaches.
• Demonstrated understanding of feminist practice, trauma-informed care, client-centred care and culturally appropriate service delivery.
• Experience building partnerships and engaging with local agencies, stakeholders, consumers and community groups.
• Strong organisational, time management, report writing and project documentation skills.
• Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

• Previous experience working in women’s health, community health or the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience working with women from different cultural backgrounds, Aboriginal women and other diverse communities.
• Experience building partnerships and collaborations across services or sectors.
• Previous experience coordinating volunteers or sessional contributors.

Other Requirements

• Current National Police Check.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Additional Role-Specific Requirements:
