EMH is a peak body in Victoria for Aboriginal women and provides support services for those impacted by domestic and family violence. Our vision is to work together with Aboriginal communities to ensure safe and culturally strong futures for our women, children, and young people.
We are an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation, we strive to take direction and work consultatively with our members and all Aboriginal women within their communities on all aspects of our services. Central to our work and business is the aim to provide advocacy and support for the empowerment of Aboriginal women. We also provide safe, secure accommodation, support and counselling services to Aboriginal women and their children experiencing family violence.
EMH has grown significantly since it was founded over 50 years ago. After a period of rapid growth and change, EMH wishes to now set a new 5-year strategy, and formalise its structure, governance, service delivery model, and operating plan. EMH is very well connected within the community and family system and is also looking to grow its strength and influence to drive change at the system level.
EMH requires a seasoned CEO to stabilise and lead the organisation into the future. The role will be focused on building a strong, unified organisation and management team, developing a 5-year strategic plan to evolve the service delivery and internal capabilities of EMH, and to strengthen governance and compliance processes. The CEO will also represent EMH in the community and with government, build productive working relationships with stakeholders, and actively advocate for Aboriginal women.
This is a role of influence and challenge for a candidate who has a strong alignment to the values of EMH and wishes to play a major role in the achievement of the Elizabeth Morgan vision and legacy.
As the CEO, you will be a driven and passionate leader who advocates for the wellbeing and safety of Aboriginal women and children. You will be responsible and accountable to the EMH Board of Directors for the management of the executive team comprising of the Chief Financial Officer, Service Delivery Manager and Human Resource Manager.
