Board Directors x2 (Voluntary) – Remote / Work from Home

PartnerSPEAK
  • Australia-wide
  • Voluntary
  • Remote

We welcome applications from experienced Board Directors across Australia.

PartnerSPEAK is Australia's only specialist organisation providing peer support, advocacy and systemic reform for non-offending partners and affected family members of people accused of or responsible for child sexual abuse.

While our services are currently funded in Victoria, our advocacy, partnerships and strategic vision extend across Australia. We welcome applications from experienced Board Directors nationwide.

Founded by people with lived experience, PartnerSPEAK is a trauma-informed organisation grounded in intentional peer support. We work to reduce isolation, challenge stigma, strengthen service systems and improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities affected by child sexual abuse.

As a company limited by guarantee, PartnerSPEAK is entering an exciting period of growth, with opportunities to expand our services, strengthen governance and increase our national impact.

ABOUT THE ROLE

PartnerSPEAK is seeking two experienced, values-aligned Board Directors to help guide the organisation through its next phase of development.

As a Director, you will contribute to the strategic direction, governance and long-term sustainability of Australia's only specialist organisation supporting non-offending partners and affected family members of people accused of or responsible for child sexual abuse.

We are seeking expertise in one or more of the following areas

Finance & Strategic Planning:

  • Finance, accounting or audit
  • Strategic planning and organisational sustainability
  • Budgeting and financial oversight
  • Risk management and governance

Sector Leadership, Partnerships & Growth:

  • Community services, trauma, family violence or child safeguarding
  • Government and stakeholder engagement
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Organisational growth and service development
  • Advocacy, policy or sector reform

This is a voluntary governance role. Directors attend monthly Board meetings, participate in one Board subcommittee and work collaboratively with fellow Directors and the executive team to ensure PartnerSPEAK continues to deliver meaningful impact for the people and communities it serves.

ABOUT YOU

You are committed to good governance and believe in using your professional expertise to make a meaningful social impact.

You bring experience in strategic leadership, governance or executive decision-making, together with sound judgement, integrity and a collaborative approach to working with others.

You will ideally have experience in one or more of the areas identified for this recruitment, together with:

  • Strategic and systems thinking
  • Financial literacy and the ability to interpret organisational performance
  • Risk management capability
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commitment to ethical governance
  • Alignment with trauma-informed and culturally safe practice

Previous Board experience or AICD qualifications are desirable but not essential. We encourage applications from people who may not meet every criterion, and mentoring can be provided for suitable candidates.

PartnerSPEAK welcomes applications from people with lived experience, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, LGBTQIA+ communities, people with disability and applicants from across Australia.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

While this is a voluntary Board position, Directors have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape the future of Australia's only specialist organisation supporting this unique community.
  • Contribute to meaningful social change through governance, advocacy and systems reform.
  • Work alongside an experienced, values-driven Board and leadership team.
  • Build governance capability and Board experience within a supportive environment.
