Brisbane Domestic Violence Service (BDVS) is a specialist domestic violence service for the Brisbane metropolitan region. The primary role of BDVS is to provide free and confidential services to women and children, partners in an intimate relationship and family members who are affected by domestic or family violence.

BDVS provides a range of services by a multidisciplinary team, in different locations across Brisbane. These include outreach and mobile services that meet people in locations which are safe and suitable to their circumstances, whether that be at home or in the community. Safer Lives (SLMS) is the after-hours support service. The Financial Counsellor role is a new addition to the BDVS support and advocacy team.

Micah Projects provides a range of support and advocacy services to individuals and families.

Micah Projects is seeking a Specialist DFV Financial Advocate for our Brisbane Domestic Violence Service to provide financial and budgeting information, support and advocacy to women who experience financial hardship and stress arising from domestic violence. Please note, this position requires a current accredited membership of Financial Counsellors Associate of Queensland.

This is a fixed-term, part-time position to June 2021, with a minimum of 30.4 hours of work available per week and is classified under the SCHADS Award as a Level 5.
