We are seeking an experienced and values-driven WDVCAS Manager to lead the Burwood Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service and join our dynamic organisation, committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of women and children.

Community Action for Better Living Inc. (CABL) delivers vital community services across Sydney’s Inner West, including WDVCAS, Family Support and Meals on Wheels. Our dedicated team provides trauma-informed, culturally safe and client-centred support across Burwood and Bankstown Local Courts, as well as in the community. 

About the Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, client-centred support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. The role oversees service operations, ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative requirements while leading a multidisciplinary team in a complex, high-risk environment. 

The role is responsible for day-to-day service delivery across intake, court advocacy, case coordination and safety planning, and ensures alignment with WDVCAP policies, funding agreements and reporting obligations. It also involves monitoring service demand, managing performance, and overseeing budgets and resources to maintain consistent, effective and high-quality practice.

In addition, the role provides strong leadership and strategic oversight across people, practice and partnerships. The Manager leads stakeholder engagement with police, courts and community partners, and uses data and community insights to drive continuous improvement, enhance accessibility for diverse communities, and contribute to broader service planning, advocacy and sector development.

Selection Criteria 

  • A degree in social work or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the dynamics, complexities and legal and social welfare consequences of domestic and family violence; 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice response to domestic and family violence including ADVO applications, criminal prosecutions and related legal matters such as family law, care and protection, migration and victim’s compensation issues; 
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, financial and management skills; 
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise and support WDVCAS staff and seconded workers;
  • Ability to develop and implement service delivery strategies aimed at ensuring the relevance, accessibility and responsiveness of WDVCAS services to a diverse range of women and children; 
  • Ability to analyse quantitative data and qualitative data to improve service delivery; 
  • Experience in building and maintaining constructive working relationships with key stakeholders and excellent networking skills; 
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in management, negotiation, advocacy and conflict resolution; 
  • Ability to effectively represent the work of the WDVCAS in public forums and in the media, and confidence in public speaking; 
  • Demonstrated management experience;

Desirable:

  • Experience within the WDVCAS or similar court advocacy services 
  • Experience contributing to policy or system reform
  • Experience working with diverse and priority communities 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in domestic and family violence service provision; 

Salary Benefits 

The salary is based on the SCHADS Award, with above-award rates of pay. We offer generous salary packaging options to help increase your take home pay, along with additional paid leave days.
