Workshop Facilitators x2

Kai-Fella Foundation
  • Seeking Casual Workshop Facilitators
  • 2 Recruits: 1 x Facilitator for Boys&Men workshops; 1 x Facilitator for Girls&Women workshops

About Kai-Fella Foundation:

Kai-Fella is a dynamic and purpose driven Not for Profit organisation based in Western Australia. Founded in 2018, Kai-Fella is committed to reducing the rates of suicide among young people by addressing the challenges they face, particularly in navigating gender stereotypes and societal expectations. Through innovative workshops, Kai-Fella empowers young adults to define their own version of themselves, encouraging self-awareness, courage, confidence, and emotional resilience.

As a Facilitator, you will play a key role in reshaping the narratives that influence young adults and help them confidently navigate the world around them.

Our work aims to rewrite gender stereotypes and move beyond the binary to something more beneficial for all. We strongly encourage gender-diverse people to apply as we continue to shape the next generation’s understanding of gender and stereotypes.

Role Purpose:

Kai-Fella is seeking Two (2) experienced and passionate Facilitators to deliver transformative mental health workshops to young adults and grow Kai-Fella’s footprint across Western Australia.

One role will primarily involve Facilitating workshops for male secondary school students (Year 9-12) and the other will primarily involve Facilitating workshops for female secondary school students (Year 9-12). Both roles will also involve delivering workshops to Adult & Youth sports clubs and community groups.

The roles are set to begin with intensive training on Kai-Fella’s suite of workshops and will evolve into leading and delivering these workshops across the state.

NOTE: This is a casual role that can vary between 0.5 to 2 days per week, so would suit someone with flexible commitments and other regular income streams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Kai-Fella’s workshops to schools, community groups, and sports clubs across WA.
  • Facilitate dynamic, engaging, and transformative workshops that encourage young adults to challenge societal expectations and define their unique identity.
  • Adapt and improve workshop content to fit the needs of diverse groups (eg. trauma-affected, gender-diverse, culturally diverse, etc.)
  • Practice emotional awareness, self-regulation and trauma informed care.
  • Collaborate closely with communities and stakeholders to build lasting relationships and greater impact.
  • Support the development and implementation of projects, including training teachers, community members and prospective facilitators.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a facilitation or training role. Preferably in emotional resilience, mental health, or gender studies - but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and/or engaging in conversations about mental health with young adults.
  • Proven ability to engage with diverse groups, particularly young adults.
  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines, logistics, and your emotional regulation effectively.
  • Ability to self-reflect and a demonstrated drive for self-improvement

Desirable:

  • Background in client management and business development.
  • In-depth understanding of gender stereotypes and their impact on the development and wellbeing of young adults.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) for administrative and reporting purposes.

What’s Unique About Kai Fella:

While Kai Fella is a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation, we are actively building out infrastructure and support systems for our facilitators. Unlike larger organisations, you will be involved in a startup-like environment, offering plenty of room for growth and innovation. We are committed to supporting our facilitators, but please note that we are in the process of expanding our team, so some responsibilities (such as logistics coordination and team supervision) may initially require independent effort and adaptability.

How You’ll Grow with Kai Fella:

  • Collaborative Growth: Be part of an organisation that is evolving rapidly, with opportunities to influence and shape the future of the program.
  • Training and Development: Ongoing professional development opportunities with our experienced team of facilitators; with the potential to collaborate on larger projects and media initiatives.
  • Tax Benefits: As an employee of a registered charity, there are significant financial benefits available.
  •   If you are passionate about creating positive change for young people in WA and are excited to take the lead in shaping the next generation’s understanding of gender, identity, and emotional resilience, we want to hear from you!
