Impact you will have in this role

Reporting to the Fundraising & Communications Director, this is a high-impact role responsible for leading the next phase of growth across fundraising and communications.

You will own and grow individual giving, regular giving, and community and events fundraising, alongside leading all external communications and marketing. Within the current income streams there is a strong foundation and significant opportunity to scale.

This role is focused on growth, innovation and development - with new acquisition strategies, and bringing fresh ideas to expand reach and income.

Community and events fundraising is a key revenue driver, including third-party events, owned campaigns, high-value events and community initiatives, offering strong opportunity to further grow impact. You will also lead communications and marketing, ensuring strong brand presence and developing high-quality collateral across digital and print channels to support fundraising outcomes.

This is a hands-on role within an inspiring, high-performing team, where you will initially manage one direct report, with committed plans to grow the team in the near future.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow regular giving and individual giving programs, including donor acquisition, retention and upgrade pathways
  • Identify, develop and optimise new donor acquisition strategies to drive income growth
  • Lead and oversee community and events fundraising, including third-party events, owned campaigns, peer-to-peer initiatives and high-value events
  • Build and manage relationships with community groups, supporters and event stakeholders to drive engagement and participation
  • Develop and deliver integrated supporter communications and journeys, including campaigns, appeals, newsletters and event communications
  • Lead the development of the annual report and regular impact reporting, ensuring clear articulation of outcomes and impact
  • Create and oversee the development of marketing and communications collateral across digital and print to support fundraising and brand objectives
  • Maintain consistent brand messaging and tone across all channels, including website, campaigns and event materials
  • Manage media engagement, including developing media content and liaising with external partners where required – sourcing pro bono support where possible
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, providing clear direction, support and performance development as the team grows
  • Contribute to organisational fundraising strategy, planning and annual income targets
  • Monitor, analyse and report on fundraising performance, donor trends and campaign effectiveness

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering fundraising outcomes across individual giving, regular giving, community and/or events fundraising
  • Proven ability to grow income through acquisition, retention and supporter engagement strategies
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-channel fundraising strategies with a focus on growth
  • Experience in communications and marketing, including development of campaigns and high-quality collateral
  • Ability to manage end-to-end campaigns, from concept development through to execution and evaluation
  • Experience working across multiple fundraising income streams in a broad, hands-on role
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, supporters and community partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of audiences. Strong public presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, growing environment with a hands-on and proactive approach
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members, or readiness to step into people leadership
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when required (time-in-lieu provided)
  • Passionate about contributing to meaningful, community-driven impact supporting women and children experiencing domestic and family violence
