About the role

  • SCHCADS Level 6 (Pro-Rata)
  • 0.8 FTE – flexible hours, initial 6 months fixed term
  • Latrobe St Melbourne location

This is an exciting role working with Good Shepherd's Financial Capability team, in collaboration with the Women's Information Referral Exchange and other partners.

  • Co-design an Intersectional Guide to Financial Capability Education that is feminist, trauma-informed and strengths-based, as a key outcome for the Women’s Financial Capability Project.
  • Centralise user’s experiences and co-design learnings to test and pilot a protocol for adapting existing financial capability education to become more intersectional by using the existing program Firmer Foundations as a case study, with a focus on tailoring the program for women with a disability.

We are looking for someone with experience, knowledge, passion and capability in the space of addressing intersectional disadvantage with a particular focus on improved financial capability as a force for personal empowerment.

The successful candidate will deploy their skills and experience in collaboration, co-design and facilitation to surface evidence-based design principles to inform the development of financial capability programs that best support the needs of Refugee, Immigrant and Asylum-Seeker women, Indigenous women and women with a disability.

The role will work closely with consultants and advocates with lived experience of disability the Financial Capability Program Manager, program partners and governance group.

About you:

  • Experience in co-delivery of community services or financial capability with women
  • Experience with the principles of co-design and addressing financial exclusion at a systemic level
  • Experience in empowering people through financial capability and/or coaching delivery
  • Experience in the development and delivery of group facilitation and training
  • Lived experience or an understanding of the NDIS
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or significant group facilitation experience
  • Core financial capability competency units in the Diploma of Financial Counselling
  • A satisfactory Police Check
  • A current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
