Flat Out is looking for a highly organised person with experience managing community organisations to coordinate our Board and executive support, compliance, finance, admin and HR functions. The Operations Manager will work collaboratively with the Flat Out team to keep the organisation running smoothly through operational functions including:

• Board Secretariat
• Executive Support
• Administration
• Budgeting and Finance
• Human Resources
• Infrastructure and Maintenance
• Contract Management

Key Selection Criteria

Women, trans and gender diverse people with lived experience of incarceration; from the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community; culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and/or from diverse communities are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Experience and skills in managing a community non-profit organisation including Board Secretariat and Executive support
• Understanding of the statutory and other regulatory requirements for community organisations in Victoria
• Experience with budgeting, accounting, financial reporting and acquittal of grants - experience with XERO accounting package an advantage
• Strong organising and office management skills - good attention to detail
• Ability to work collectively in a team environment, to interact with others with patience, sensitivity and diplomacy and build relationships with colleagues, supported people and stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and exercise discretion and judgement
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Experience/interest in fundraising, events management, data collection, impact measurement and/or website development highly regarded

Mandatory

• Relevant qualifications and/or experience in an operations, management or executive support role in the community sector
• Commitment to decolonisation, intersectional and inclusive feminism and prison abolition
• A current police check (and international police check if necessary) and a current Working with Children Check (a criminal record is not necessarily an obstacle to employment)
