Municipal Services Supervisor - Galiwinku, NT
We are seeking an experienced Municipal Services Supervisor to lead the delivery of essential municipal services in Galiwinku. This hands-on role sits within the Council Services team and plays a key part in keeping community infrastructure, public spaces and waste services safe, compliant and well maintained. If you enjoy leading teams and working in a remote community environment, this role offers meaningful and varied work.
What you'll do:
- Lead and supervise the Municipal Services team to deliver safe, compliant and reliable municipal services.
- Oversee day-to-day operations including waste management, landfill activities, roads maintenance and grounds upkeep.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, environmental and legislative requirements through inspections, reporting and corrective actions.
- Coordinate daily work schedules, manage attendance and performance, and support staff capability development.
- Operate and oversee the safe use and maintenance of plant, vehicles and equipment.
- Respond to operational issues, emergencies and severe weather events in line with established procedures.
What we're looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in municipal services, civil works, waste management or similar operational environments.
- Current MR driver licence and relevant plant competencies (such as backhoe, skid steer or loader), with the ability to drive manual vehicles in remote conditions.
- Demonstrated experience supervising teams and delivering operational services in a local government or similar setting.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a resource-constrained environment.
- Proven commitment to workplace health and safety and the ability to implement safe systems of work.
- Experience working in, or with, remote communities and an understanding of community-based service delivery.

- A competitive salary ($96,200.42 - $102,058.97 per year, excluding super), with annual reviews under the Enterprise Agreement
- 6 weeks of annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading
- A generous Locality Allowance ($4,478.26 without dependants or $8,010.20 with dependants), along with an outdoor allowance and subsidised housing at $75 per week to support living in remote East Arnhem communities
