ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of the MOMO team, you will be responsible for delivering person centred, strength-based case management services within a Human Rights Framework.  This includes working face to face and providing Domestic and Family Violence support and information to women, support to access housing and referrals to Specialist Homelessness Services for ongoing support.

The service operates on a full-time basis, during business hours, Monday to Friday. MOMO is a mobile service which is based in the City, but also operates from various outreach spaces across the inner City of Sydney. The Case Manager will work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. 

Moving Out Moving On (MOMO) provides outreach support to women with or without children in the inner city of Sydney, who are escaping from or experiencing Domestic and Family Violence or are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

MOMO provides services through outreach, meeting with women in flexible locations across the community. The MOMO team are located at the following services regularly each week:

  • Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre
  • Newtown Neighbourhood Centre
  • Housing NSW City Office – Strawberry Hills
  • Redfern Community Centre

ABOUT domestic violence service management (dvsm)

We are a registered charity which aims to prevent and to provide support for people escaping/experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) and homelessness.

DVSM provides support services in an urban context (Inner Sydney), in a suburban context (Western Sydney) and in remote rural NSW (Wilcannia). DVSM also provides professional services (Sightlines) to build capacity and share learning about Domestic and Family Violence.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Work in alignment with DVSM values and principles
  2. Provide comprehensive case management in alignment with DVSMs Practice Framework to an allocated case load of clients
  3. Contribute to client services program objectives
  4. Fulfil duties in the relevant Duties Matrix
  5. Perform at the relevant level in the CS Capability Framework
  6. Adhere to DVSMs Policies and Procedures
  7. Undertake other duties within the scope of this role, as reasonably directed.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Criteria

  1. At least two years’ case management experience or minimum Diploma in Community Services Sector or similar
  2. Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to use strengths-based case management approach.
  4. Demonstrated ability to be self-directing, plan and prioritise workload and show initiative.
  5. Strong client focus and genuine desire to assist team members

To be female is a genuine requirement for the position under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Current Driver’s Licence is a requirement.

A successful Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Federal Police check is required to be employed with DVSM.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Proven ability to work without direct supervision in outreach services.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of domestic and family violence.
