Nambour Community Centre has been serving the community through diverse government funded programs and aims to ensure sustainable and effective service delivery.

We are proud of our achievements and have had a positive impact on the lives of many people in this community. The Management Committee are seeking additional members to complement the knowledge and experience of our current structure.

about the position

  • Location: Nambour
  • Commitment: 12-month minimum term

Time Required:

Regular committee member’s time commitments would vary and be a minimum of 5 hrs a month, which includes the 2.5 hours monthly committee meetings.

The committee is also committing itself to ongoing training in order to increase its skills for good governance. The time required cannot be estimated at this time as it will vary for each member.

The committee holds 11 meetings a year and are 2.5 hours long and held on the last Tuesday of each month at the NCC starting at 4:15pm.

Occasionally there are decisions that the committee needs to take between meetings and this will involve emailed reports that need to be read and responded to.

When policies and procedures are developed by the management, the committee members are asked to review them and provide feedback. Then sign them off at the next meeting.

Each committee member is encouraged but not required to be involved in the activities of the NCC, when they are able.

  • Age Range: 18 to 80
  • Training: An induction manual is available and training is offered when available in the roles and responsibilities of being on a management committee.
  • Volunteers needed: 2 Urgent: No

Requirements:

The minimum requirements for this role are willingness and availability to contribute to the local community and the good governance of the Centre. Members are required to attend monthly meetings at the Nambour Community Centre.

The Nambour Community Centre is a Child Safe organisation and as a requirement of this all volunteers, including committee members are required to hold a current blue card or equivalent.

We are particularly interested in strengthening the composition of our committee with people who have any of the following skills at this time:

  1. Fundraising and marketing skills and ability to represent NCC when doing so.
  2. Stakeholder engagement skills would also be great

  • Contract / grant management
  • Familiarity with the local area
  • Financial management and accounting
  • Legal, business management
  • Human Resources / Industrial Relations
  • Fundraising/ philanthropy
  • Community development
