Community House Network Southern Region is seeking a highly organised, collaborative and community-minded Network Coordinator to support the effective operation of its regional network.

About Community House Network Southern

Community House Network Southern Region supports 72 Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres across South East Melbourne and the Bayside Peninsula. The network provides support, information sharing, capacity building and opportunities for collaboration across the local Neighbourhood House sector.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Network Manager, the Network Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the operational functions of CHNS. This includes administration, governance support, training coordination, communications, reporting and assistance with local networking activities.

  • Provide administrative support to the Network Manager and assist with the day-to-day operational functions of the network.
  • Respond to resource requests from member Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres.
  • Support capacity building, information sharing and communication across the network.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, governance documentation and meeting materials.
  • Maintain communication channels and support local networking activities across the region.

About You

The successful applicant will be a confident and adaptable professional with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills. You will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and will bring a practical understanding of community-based organisations and governance requirements.

  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a small team.
  • Ability to support community-based governance, reporting and operational requirements.
  • Experience in the community sector or Neighbourhood House sector is desirable.
  • Resilience, adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic community-focused environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Development or a related field, or relevant experience in a community-based or Neighbourhood House role.
  • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid working rights.
