The Strategy and Support Division of Cancer Council Victoria places people at the centre of everything we do. We work directly with clinicians, researchers, policymakers and people affected by cancer to reduce inequities and improve outcomes for all Victorians, now and into the future.

About your opportunity

We are seeking an Engagement Lead to join the Cancer Strategy Unit, Strategy and Support Division. Reporting to the Manager, Policy and Engagement, your role is to:

  • Provide high level advice to staff on how to effectively engage clinicians and community members in the work of the Strategy and Support Division in line with strategic priorities
  • Lead the development and implementation of best practice community engagement in the work of the Strategy and Support Division
  • Develop and maintain day-to-day relationships with the Community Advisory Network, Clinical Network, and other project partners and key stakeholders
  • Conduct high-quality engagement to advance our policy and advocacy priorities

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Health, Public Health, or Social Sciences
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and/or communications environment, with a strong understanding of marketing and communication principles and their application.
  • Substantial relevant experience in developing, delivering and evaluating health related policy and/or programs.

  • A base salary within range $75,486 - $84,872 pa plus superannuation and not-for-profit salary packaging program (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free
