ABOUT THIS ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join BRQ's Executive Leadership Team at a pivotal stage in our organisational development.
As Operations Director, you will lead the systems, people and organisational capability that enable our frontline legal and advocacy services to thrive. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide executive leadership across corporate services, governance, finance, people and culture, technology, enterprise risk and organisational improvement.
Working closely with the CEO, Management Committee and leadership team, you will help shape BRQ's future by strengthening organisational capability, supporting sustainable growth and ensuring our systems, people and resources enable exceptional client outcomes.
Your work will focus on three key areas
- Organisational Operations & Strategy – leading operational planning, corporate services, business systems and organisational improvement.
- People, Governance & Organisational Capability – strengthening governance, workforce capability, risk, compliance and organisational culture.
- Finance, Systems & Digital Transformation – overseeing finance, technology, data and digital transformation to improve organisational performance.
This is an ongoing position. Part-time 0.8 preferred but full time may be considered.
ABOUT YOU
- You are an experienced senior leader who enjoys building strong organisations behind the scenes so that frontline services can have maximum impact.
- You are equally comfortable thinking strategically and solving practical operational challenges, and you have a track record of leading organisational improvement in complex service environments.
- You bring sound judgement, excellent relationship skills and the ability to lead diverse teams through change while maintaining a positive, collaborative culture.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU NEED:
- Significant senior leadership experience in operations, corporate services or organisational management within the community, legal, government, health or not-for-profit sectors.
- Demonstrated success leading organisational change, systems implementation or business transformation.
- Strong knowledge of governance, finance, risk management, compliance, workforce management and organisational operations.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing organisational capability.
- A commitment to social justice and BRQ's values of fairness, access, inclusion, transparency, respect, responsiveness and expertise.
