JOB PURPOSE

  • To positively promote Waverley Social Enterprise (WSE) (Waverley Industries Ltd) services to external stakeholders through dynamic Sales and Marketing activities.
  • Lead WSE Business and Sales activities for all business divisions in line with the organisation’s long term Strategic Plan and annual Business Plan KPI’s and Goals.
  • To ensure that the Organisation is a profitable and viable business with annual expansion through business growth, diversity, and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of all Business and Sales activities for every division of business at WSE.
  • To ensure the organisation’s business activities in every division are profitable and sustainable in line with the organisation’s Strategic Goals.
  • Preparing annual forecast sales budgets, draft of all departments’ annual and monthly budgets in conjunction with the Group Finance Manager (GFM) and an Equipment CAPEX for each division of business that will allow us to win more work.
  • GBM is to provide a draft Business and Marketing Plan to support the annual forecast budget and organisations strategic plan presented to the CEO as an attachment.
  • Achievement of the annual divisional and overall sales budgets and to meet budgeted “Cost of Goods” expenses.
  • Ensure that any items or services supplied by Waverley for customers’ jobs are allowed for and covered in our pricing.
  • Ensure that every job that we accept, meets all OH&S legislative and statutory requirements as per the Work Safe Act in all divisions.
  • Responsible for all suppliers’ negotiations and management of all maintenance contracts.
  • Provide the CEO and Board / Committees with an annual Risk Management plan.
  • Responsible to liaise with the Group HR Manager in determining needs, hiring employees, overseeing assignment of employees and planning staff development and reprimands for misbehavior or poor performance, or recommendations of dismissal etc. Adhering to the Fair Work Act for disciplinary matters is imperative.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance against all WSE procedures and policies as well as with ISO Accreditation and Disability Support Accreditation requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing and overseeing managers’ recommendations for all outsourced work to external contractors.
  • Responsible for overseeing and reviewing each manager’s research recommendations on automation processes in light of improving production output, quality, and profits. Provide a formal proposal with supporting evidence to present to the EMT for approval.
  • Where possible, GBM will endeavor to source external donations towards the purchase of new Capital Equipment with support from the EMT.
  • Responsible for making recommendations to the EMT on restructuring of the workplace to improve productivity and safety.
  • Responsible for producing a Monthly Operational Report for the Business Review Committee (BRC) and Board outlining the performance and outcomes achieved to budget.
  • Report to the EMT & Board of Directors of any significant matter or issue that can consequently jeopardize the company legally or financially.
  • GBM has a $7,500 Delegated Authority spend towards supplier purchases, working tools/ equipment, repairs and general expenditure relating directly to work matters or company needs. All purchases must have receipts and be handed in to the GFM. All tools/equipment purchases of more than $500 must be recorded on the company asset register file.
  • Recommendation of employee dismissal or additional hire of new employees above the approved budget will be discussed and agreed to by the Executive Management Team (EMT) prior to it being actioned.
  • GBM is responsible for conducting the bi-annual PDP/performance reviews of direct report managers. Recommending to the EMT and Board of Directors future training requirements, salary reviews and recommendations for any new positions within the organization.
  • GBM reviews department managers’ annual appraisals of their support staff and in conjunction with the manager makes the necessary recommendations of additional training required as well as salary reviews.

  • Sales / Gross Profit / Surplus Budgets.

  • High levels of Customer Service Satisfaction (To be measured through the Customer Feedback Surveys).
  • New business generated (Partnerships with Corporate Socially Responsible (CSR) Organisations).
  • Guide and motivate the Sales Team through PDP KPI's, Goal setting and Strategy. Achievement of all the Waverley "RESPECT" Values.
  • Ensure that everything that we do is OH&S / Safety Compliant.

JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS

(i.e., education, experience, behavioural)

  • 5+ Years in a similar Senior Manager or Sales & Marketing role.
  • Degree Qualification in Business or similar experience Tenacious and outcomes driven to achieve Strategic Goals Strong and fair leader of people and teams.
  • Strong business acumen and P&L experience Strong communication skills with all levels.
  • Sales / Customer Service experience of at least 5 years. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience.
  • CRM Customer Management Experience.
  • Sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of our employees.
  • Effective prioritisation and organisational skills.
