AVI History

With a 70 year history, AVI is an Australian not-for-profit organisation committed to achieving economic and social development outcomes across Asia, the Pacific and Africa. AVI manages the Australian Volunteers Program (www.australianvolunteers.com), on behalf of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The aim of the Australian Volunteers Program is to support partner organisations progress their development objectives through the provision of skilled Australian volunteers. The program works across 26 countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

Role Overview

This role will develop and deliver high quality, efficient systems, processes and services to support the efficient operational objectives of the Australian Volunteers Program. This includes ensuring compliance with client mandated contractual, policy and regulatory requirements; as well as maintaining key program documentation such as the operations manual.

This role is a Full-Time Maximum Term position of up to 5 years with a start date of April 2022. Total TRP of up to $119,459 (AVI Band 4). Flexible Work from Home and salary packaging options available (conditions apply).

Position Requirements:

• Managing and implementing assurance processes, with a number of internal and external stakeholders
• Effective management of multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
• Developing, implementing, and documenting good practice across the program

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

• High level of ability to identify and contribute to business improvement opportunities across the operational aspects of the Australian Volunteers Program  
• Demonstrated ability to respond to a variety of complex issues in a consistent and effective manner using sound problem solving capability 
• High level verbal and written communication skills together with well-developed administration and organisational skills 
• Understanding of and commitment to EEO, child protection and privacy principles

Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent demonstrated work experience 
• Internal Auditor training would be an advantage as well as a Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) or demonstrated experience conducting fraud investigations
