The Meridian Youth and Family Therapy Team has developed a well-respected family and adolescent focus to its work over many years.
The team has a strong culture that values innovation, collaboration and leadership with a particular focus on family life stage, context, and the generational impact of trauma.
The program’s key aim is to strengthen relationships and improve family functioning whilst also focusing on the evolving needs of the young person. Many of the families referred to this program have complex issues. To address the complexity of family dynamics a family therapy approach is used in the context of providing wraparound supports.
The Meridian Youth and Family Therapy Team receives several sources of funding to provide services to adolescents and their families including Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, and Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP).
