The Job:

The Senior Family Violence practitioner role is an exciting opportunity to work across the Western Family services programs embedding the Family Violence framework, providing secondary consultation and implementing a reflective practice space for Family violence work.

  • Up skilling of staff through reflective practice, focus groups and training opportunities.
  • Case specific case consultations, attending home visits as secondary worker.
  • Embedding of the Family Violence framework into the Family Service teams.

Your new role:

This role is all about bringing your knowledge and experience of family violence and sharing it with the wider family services team. Within the wider team, we’ll receive referrals via The Orange Door and from across the programs we run at Anglicare including Adolescent Family Violence in the Home and Family and other services. From there the family services practitioners will work closely to help clients achieve positive outcomes, all with the help of you in this role, providing support and guidance as a subject matter expert and advocate for best practice in the context of Family Violence.

You’ll also have the chance to work directly with families as well as: 

  • Provide child-centered, family-focused case management support to families with complex needs who are experiencing high risk family violence.
  • Provides family violence consultations & co-work to Family Services Practitioners within the program
  • Works collaboratively with the Child and Family Services Alliance for system and practice improvements

The skills you will use day to day:

  • The experience to lead others and offer secondary consults on complex cases.
  • Work in partnership with children & young people and families.
  • Contemporary theory and frameworks including trauma informed, attachment, social learning.
  • Support practice improvement.
  • Work collaborative with DFFH and other services providers.

This role would be perfect for a someone such as an orange door practitioner looking for a more hands on and consultative role, away from the intake, assessment, and referral nature of TOD. It could be a good pathway to develop skills aligned to a Practice Lead role if that’s your long-term goal.

  • You get a salary starting at $102,000 plus super.
  • Part time, 3 days per week.
  • Fixed term to April 2025, position created due to additional funding (12 months)
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus an entertainment card.
  • SCHCADS award level 6.
  • Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.
