At Anglicare Victoria, we work alongside children, young people and families to help build safer, stronger futures. Our work is guided by three pillars Prevent, Protect, Empower and grounded in compassion, courage and commitment.
The Orange Door is central to this work, bringing together specialist family violence and child and family services into one integrated entry point for support.
Anglicare Victoria have 2 positions available. 1 x full time permanent and 1 x full time fixed term covering parental leave to June 30th 2027.
As a Practitioner within The Orange Door, you will work in an Intake, Assessment and Brief Intervention capacity as part of an integrated team.
This is primarily a phone-based role, where your practice skills are applied through conversation, risk assessment and planning.
One call may involve supporting a victim survivor of family violence.
The next may focus on the safety and wellbeing of a child experiencing abuse, neglect or instability.
The work is diverse, complex and often time critical. It requires emotional agility, sound judgement and the ability to assess risk while remaining calm and compassionate.
You will work collaboratively within the integrated model, contributing to shared risk assessment, case planning and coordinated responses across child wellbeing and family violence streams.
“I feel really supported probably the most supported I’ve ever felt in a workplace. This job can be difficult, so if you’re supported, that’s half the battle.”
Bachelor’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master’s Degrees are required to work at The Orange Door. If you hold a Diploma, then you will need to complete further study and complete a higher level of education within the next 10 years.
The list of qualifications accepted is extensive. Please call or email if you are unsure whether your qualification meets the MMQ.
