Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) is looking for an experienced and exceptional Director Corporate Services on a full-time basis to join our Executive team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Australian Indigenous Doctors’ Association (AIDA) is the national body representing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander doctors and medical students, focused on equitable health and life outcomes for Indigenous people. We do this by working towards reaching population parity of Indigenous medical students and doctors; and supporting a culturally safe healthcare system.

Role and Responsibility

Corporate Leadership

  • Partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to translate strategy into an effective operating model, resourcing approach, and delivery rhythm.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of corporate services systems, governance and workflows that enable a remote workforce and national operations.
  • Provide high-quality executive advice and decision support to the CEO, including options analysis, risk implications, and implementation pathways.
  • Drive organisational performance disciplines across enabling functions, including planning, reporting, policy adherence, and continuous improvement.

Operation Management

  • Provide strong leadership, supervision, and performance management for direct reports across Corporate Services and Business Development (and other enabling roles as applicable).
  • Build a culture of accountability and care, including regular one-on-ones, team rhythms, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • Lead the establishment and implementation of ISO 9001 accreditation, including managing reaccreditation.

Corporate Finance

  • Manage the outsourced finance provider to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit readiness.
  • Lead internal budget governance, including monthly financial performance reviews, variance analysis, and executive-level recommendations.

Corporate Human Resource

  • Manage the outsourced HR provider to deliver high-quality workforce support, including recruitment, performance development, employee relations, remuneration advice, policy frameworks, and compliance.
  • Maintain organisational policies and procedures that are fit-for-purpose, culturally safe, and consistently applied.
  • Lead WHS governance, including compliance with relevant WHS legislation, risk registers, incident reporting, training, and continuous improvement across a remote working environment.

Corporate ICT

  • Manage the outsourced ICT provider(s) to deliver reliable, secure and user-friendly systems for a national remote workforce.
  • Oversee ICT governance including cyber security controls, access management, incident response, continuity planning, and vendor performance.

Performance, Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure the organisation maintains accreditation, compliance, and quality assurance across all operational domains.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency uplift, and operational innovation aligned to service excellence.
  • Coordinate audits (financial, program/funder, WHS, cyber, governance) and ensure actions are completed and embedded.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts, with demonstrated commitment to cultural safety and cultural governance.
  • Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in managing corporate services or operations in either a non-profit or government.
  • Senior experience in corporate services/enabling functions within a complex, values-driven organisation.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced providers and contracts, with a track record of improving service quality and accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing, culturally safe, and inclusive teams, with a hybrid workforce and a strong focus on mentoring and workforce development.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution capability.
  • High-level communication, influencing, and executive reporting skills.
  • Strong financial literacy with experience interpreting financial statements, leading budgets/forecasts, and driving controls.

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Business, Law, Health Management, or relevant fields.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a member-based or peak body organisation, with a demonstrated understanding of member engagement, community engagement and advocacy dynamics.
