Asians for Climate Solutions is a national charity working to make climate solutions practical, fair and accessible for Asian and multicultural communities in Australia.
We know that household energy decisions are not just technical decisions. They are shaped by culture, language, migration experience, housing type, family needs, cost-of-living pressure and trust. Many multicultural households want to reduce bills and make cleaner energy choices, but face barriers such as confusing information, rental or apartment constraints, language access, upfront costs and uncertainty about rebates.
Our work connects culture with practical climate action. We deliver community education, outreach, advocacy and partnerships so that more households can understand their options, access support and take realistic next steps towards cleaner, healthier and more affordable homes.
This role is part of a major community energy project focused on supporting multicultural households across Western Sydney and Greater Sydney.
The Community Organiser / Energy Education Coordinator will help multicultural households understand practical ways to reduce energy costs, access rebates and take realistic steps towards home electrification.
This is a people-facing role that combines community organising, outreach, education, event delivery, volunteer coordination and participant follow-up. You will work with local communities, councils, settlement services, faith-based groups, multicultural organisations and community leaders to reach households who may not usually access mainstream energy information.
You will organise and deliver community workshops, festival stalls, induction cooking demonstrations, information sessions and sign-up pathways for deeper household support. You will also coordinate interested participants into 1:1 energy advice, basic home electrification check-ups, rebate support and renter or apartment-specific advice pathways with qualified experts and relevant partners.
The role is about building trust, listening to people’s real situations, explaining options clearly, and helping communities access practical support that makes sense for their homes, budgets and lives.
This role will suit someone who enjoys being out in the community, talking to people, coordinating moving parts, and turning community interest into real action.
You are a strong relationship-builder who enjoys working with communities and helping people feel informed, respected and supported.
You do not need to be a home energy expert already, but you do need to be willing to learn quickly and explain information in simple, practical and culturally appropriate ways. You are comfortable talking with people from different backgrounds, organising events, following up with participants and keeping clear records.
We are looking for someone with:
Additional Asian language skills are highly desirable. Lived experience in multicultural, migrant, refugee, diaspora or faith-based communities will also be highly valued.
Formal qualifications are not essential if you have relevant community experience and the right skills for the role.
We strongly encourage applications from people from Asian, multicultural, migrant, refugee and other underrepresented communities.
Our current CEO began in a similar community organising role 1.5 years ago, so this role is well suited to someone who wants to grow their skills, leadership and career in the climate not-for-profit sector.

We strongly encourage applications from people with lived experience in Asian, multicultural, migrant, refugee, diaspora or faith-based communities.
