Reporting to the CEO, this key leadership role leads the application of and capacity building of intersectional gender equity in Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne for WHISE, and oversees
WHISE is one of 12 Women’s Health Services that since 1988 have been a key part of the Victorian preventative health infrastructure. These services are providers of gendered health promotion and primary prevention that collectively share a range of priorities.
Funded through the Victorian Government, the Victorian Women’s Health Services:
WHISE works across 10 local government areas from South Melbourne down to the Mornington Peninsula and east to Casey and Cardinia. Our area of work is the Southern Metropolitan Region and is one of the most diverse and expanding regions across Australia.
WHISE proudly works in the South East Region of Melbourne to create equity by learning, educating and advocating for all women. We create positive and productive relationships based on understanding and evidence with leaders, individuals, communities and organisations in our region.
Reporting to the CEO, this key leadership role leads the application of and capacity building of intersectional gender equity in Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne for WHISE, and oversees the building of evidence base on primary prevention and health promotion of women's health.
You are someone with a strong vision and understanding of the value and benefit of gender equality for all people and a working knowledge of issues, challenges and opportunities in the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne. You value collaboration, partnership and identify as a feminist.
You are someone with experience in leading diverse teams with a range of capabilities and lived experience and have good experience in designing and implementing strategies and programs on gender equality, gender equity and intersectionality with organisations and communities. You may also have qualifications (or equivalent) in gender mainstreaming
You will have an understanding of how to work in partnership and in collaboration with stakeholders and partners, and importantly how to meet people “where they are at” to grow capacity and capability of our community and partners in gender equality and intersectional practice.
Ideally you will have a working knowledge of the gender equality legislative framework in Victoria, and have experience of implementing it (or similar) with others, through teams and, leading the process of implementation
