Seeking volunteers for the role of General Board Member at NECCHi!

NECCHi (Newlands and East Coburg Community Hubs Inc.) is a community run, not for profit organisation that operates out of two unique neighbourhood houses in the north of Melbourne (Naarm).

Our vision is for NECCHi to be a practical community resource, guided by people, place and possibility. Our mission is to foster a community that is connected through social, ecological and cultural equality.

NECCHi is committed to delivering bold initiatives to advance social justice and sustainability, and to supporting our communities through making the Newlands and East Coburg Neighbourhood Houses the best they can be. We believe that partnering with and supporting community groups helps us to deliver the most relevant and dynamic programs for our community.

NECCHi houses aim to be inclusive and respectful spaces where awesome things happen to build strong, happy communities.

NECCHi delivers a range of programs, activities, events and supports community groups and members through auspice, partnerships and room hire.

We are looking for community-minded, innovative, and creative folk to join our board who have a passion for community development and social justice. We’re committed to promoting strong community leadership and willing to invest in governance training for people who join our board with a view to succession planning for executive roles.

This role works with the Board of Governance and Manager to realise NECCHi’s vision and strategic goals, working across 2 locations in the vibrant and diverse area of Coburg.

This is an exciting time to join the board as we implement our new 3-year Strategic Plan which includes a focus on reconciliation and climate action.

A ‘Meet the Board Supper & Information Session’ will be held on Wednesday 31st May from 7pm-8pm at Newlands Neighbourhood House. Interested applicants are warmly invited to come along, meet current Board members and learn more about NECCHi and the role.
