About Us?
The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established in 2009 by its founding members to provide a coordinated and integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of services, programs and models of care for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being. The Unit oversees key functions of policy and planning, data and health information management, innovation in service design and development, service quality and safety, and evaluation and research.
About the Role?
The Health Services Development and Innovation Project Manager works as an integral member of the team, with key responsibility for:
- Project Managing the Development and Implementation of new health and related services – working with a wide range of managers, clinicians and health staff, clients and community, playing a lead role incoordinating the process of design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of healthcare systems and services
- Coordinating and Project Managing the implementation of continuous clinical system and service reflection, refresh and improvement
- Providing secretariat support for the operation of key IUIH Network Quality and Innovation committees and forums – including coordinating and organising input into meeting agendas and activities, preparing meeting papers, and ensuring timely follow up on agreed actions and priorities
About You?
- Qualifications in health or related field
- Demonstrated high level of skill, experience and passion for working with teams supporting service implementation, change management and quality improvement
- Demonstrated experience in project management in a health or related service setting
- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities; knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health services, embracing of the principles and practice of community control
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of disciplines, levels of management, and people
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Clinical qualification and experience working as a clinician in a comprehensive primary health care setting
- Experience working in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service or setting
