The Head of Communications is principally responsible for:

  • Strategic Communications
  • Marketing and Branding
  • Corporate Affairs and Management
  • Stakeholder Engagement

This role is offered on a full time or part time basis (0.8), with exact hours and days to be agreed with the successful candidate.

Remuneration for the position is commensurate with experience and skills.

About You:

You are experienced at a senior management level, with strong skills in managing and implementing strategic marketing and advertising plans, across different audiences. A confident clear communicator to work across the organisation to implement marketing strategy, and best practices to achieve positive outcomes. You can meet the challenge of building a contemporary image for GGV using a wide range of media, publications, and other communication activities. Strong credentials and a wide diverse set of contacts in both media and government. Prior experience in the for purpose or youth sector is desirable, but not essential.

You are the ideal candidate if you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing
  • 5 years’ experience in a Marketing, Communications or Public Relations role
  • Previous management experience in leading teams, and engaging and communicating at all levels of internal and external Stakeholders
  • The ability to think broadly and conceptually with a long-term focus to inform the development of strategy
  • Experience in managing and implementing integrated campaigns across all channels including digital, media (including an existing list of media contacts), ATL, BTL, PR, Ambassadors and other key stakeholders including Government.
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, verbal and non-verbal, editorial skills and the capacity to repurpose content across diverse audiences and channels of communication.
  • Skilled in using MS Office, comfortable using database/CRM tools and familiar with marketing automation and design tools.
  • Flexible and diplomatic with an ability to adapt to circumstance and strategic change needs.
  • Excellent time management skills and can work independently and manage multiple projects with different stakeholders.
  • Commitment and an understanding of how Guiding contributes to the development of girls and women.
