This leading organisation provides support to families experiencing Domestic Family Violence through refuge and culturally appropriate support programs tailored to the needs of the individuals and families.

With a clear strategic plan, they continue to expand their services to meet the growing needs of the community including all forms of gender based violence.

As the CFO you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial capabilities of the organisation to meet their responsibilities and continue their mission to support the most vulnerable members of the community.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing regular analysis, counsel and guidance to the CEO, the Board and the Leadership team on the organisation’s current and future financial position and strategy
  • Prepare Financial modelling and analysis, reports and insights for the Board and Finance Sub-Committees, Executive Team and other committees as required
  • Effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the CEO, Finance Sub Committee and the Board
  • Liaise with relevant external parties such as auditors, bankers, legal advisors and insurance brokers
  • Drive the development of a 'best practice' Finance function, and the improvement of internal processes and systems ensuring controls are in place to identify and manage financial risks
  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory compliance requirements for reporting and disclosure are met

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • A highly-motivated individual with proven technical accounting skills, CA/CPA qualification essential
  • Experience in financial and management reporting and ability to analyse financial reports and provide strategic business insights
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to think and act strategically
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills particularly in leading, negotiation, relationship management and creating influence
  • Ability to be hands on, and identify and execute on process and system improvements
  • Advanced computer skills – proficient in MS Office and BI, Excel, MYOB
  • Agile, adaptable, flexible and comfortable with working in a fast paced environment
