Child Wise, a social enterprise of Save the Children, is one of Australia's leading child safety organisations. With over 28 years of experience working with government, non-government and for-profit organisations, we deliver bespoke consulting, coaching, accreditation and training services to help organisations become child safe. In this new role supporting national growth, we need you to lead the establishment and delivery of our program across New South Wales.

Where you come in:

In this part-time, maximum term position (12 months, 0.6 FTE with flexibility and a possibility to increase) based in Sydney, you will be responsible for overall service delivery in your state with a strong focus on business development and client engagement first up. While you will initially be responsible for delivering consulting, coaching and accreditation, community of practice and training services, you will recruit, grow and lead a team as the need arises across the state. You will report to our Executive Director, based in Melbourne and be supported locally by the Save the Children State Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Identifying new opportunities to promote the work of Child Wise
  • Using your strong connections to drive awareness of Child Wise services
  • Providing high quality consulting, coaching and advisory services to diverse organisations
  • Organising and delivering a range of training packages to clients and the public
  • Managing a team of sub-contractors or staff to deliver services as needed
  • Managing budgets and ensuring financial targets are met

If we could compose the perfect you…

…You have a background in Child Protection or a related field and understand the impact of child abuse on children. You closely followed the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and understand the importance of making organisations safe for children. You are well connected in your state and can use these connections to grow the profile of Child Wise. You are prepared to roll up your sleeves and do everything initially while building a state-based business that you can lead to success. You are prepared to start off on a part time basis but are open to scale up your commitment and build the team as the work comes in.

This role requires:

  • Sound knowledge of the relevant child protection legislation across all jurisdictions
  • Experience in designing and delivering training relating to child protection/child safety
  • Proven track record in leading organisational wide projects or consulting
  • Demonstrated experience providing advisory and/or consulting services to diverse clients
  • Training qualifications or are other relevant tertiary qualifications are desirable
