We're Marie Stopes Australia, the leading national provider of sexual and reproductive health, and we're looking for our next Community Engagement Coordinator to join our Melbourne team.

A student in marketing, communications, community development or event management fields looking for short term work experience as a volunteer.

What we want you to do:

• Outreach activities with healthcare practitioners
• Engagement at events we participate in
• Assist in preparing for events
• Provide timely and thorough research
• Contribute to creating event collateral, arranging catering and finalising event locations
• Provide suggestions and proposals for engagement with a variety of communities
• Ensure that clinic staff are supported during events
• Maintain up to date contact lists
• Provide accurate reports on outreach activities

What we need:

• A pro-choice and sex positive advocate
• Professional and proactive manner
• Calm and methodical approach
• Able to work collaboratively
• Resourceful and creative, focused on getting the most impact for effort
• Willing to provide admin support to team
• Looking for work experience with a mission focussed organisation

What we'd like to see (but aren't essential):

• Demonstrated ability to build strong and productive professional relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders over the phone or at a distance
• Experience working in a complex health setting or not-for-profit in a similar capacity
• A sex positive attitude that sensitively tackles stigma and misconceptions about our services
• Ability to motivate and empower others to address stigma
