We’re looking for an experienced and values driven National Project Coordinator to lead the delivery of inclusive cervical screening and sexual health clinics for LGBTQ+ communities across Australia.

This role coordinates the national delivery of fixed site and pop-up sexual health and cervical screening clinics, working with partner organisations in every state and territory. You’ll play a central role in ensuring services are inclusive, trauma informed, culturally safe, and delivered to a high standard. The position supports ACON’s strategic goals in cancer prevention and screening, with a strong focus on equity and community partnership.

Full-time [70] hours per fortnight) based in our Gadigal (Surry Hills) office.

ACON’s Cancer Programs work nationally to reduce cancer disparities for LGBTQ+ communities through prevention, screening, social marketing, and service innovation.

A key initiative is Check OUT – a free, LGBTQ+ inclusive and trauma informed sexual health and cervical screening clinic delivered in partnership with Family Planning Australia. This role coordinates national delivery across six key pillars, including model of care, peer led approaches, clinical partnerships, service delivery, workforce capacity building, and digital communications.

Ok, so what’s the role?

The National Project Coordinator, Cancer Programs is responsible for coordinating national service delivery and partnerships. You will:

  • Coordinate fixed site and pop-up cervical screening clinics across Australia.
  • Manage contracts and relationships with LGBTQ+ partner organisations in each state and territory.
  • Oversee clinic scheduling, logistics and operational planning.
  • Support the development of inclusive resources, training materials and community engagement approaches.
  • Monitor clinic performance and contribute to evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety protocols and funding requirements.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support high quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate and support casual staff and project volunteers.
  • Prepare clear, culturally sensitive updates and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Tertiary qualifications in public health, health promotion or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience coordinating health programs or services.
  • Brings excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and a clear commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Confident managing contracts and working across multiple partner organisations.
  • Communicates clearly, builds strong relationships, and works well in complex national projects.
  • Committed to trauma informed and culturally safe practice.
