YWCA Australia
  • Inclusive and supportive culture
  • Work with a diverse women's organisation towards gender equality
  • Attractive salary packaging options - up to $15,900 tax free

We are a proudly feminist not-for-profit organisation and for over 140 years we have been working at the forefront of gender equality through our housing, community programs and advocacy. Our five-year plan has a focus on making young women’s leadership and women’s housing our priority for gender equity in Australia. This will ensure we continue to deliver measurable and meaningful impact towards a future where gender equality is a reality.

YWCA NT has been supporting women, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and women from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, in the Territory since 1969. We provide local housing, services and support programs that enable women, their families and other priority groups to find stability and feel safe and secure, so they can build the future they want.

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our Housing Support Program in our Darwin office. This role is offered on a full time ongoing basis.

The role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the housing support program by:

  • Coaching, mentoring and lead our people to achieve our vision and strategic goals
  • Assessing workflow, workloads and the performance of the team
  • Setting exceptional standards with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Meeting the contractual obligations of the funding agreements including reporting

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences or Social Work (post graduate qualifications are highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience leading people and developing employees to build capability
  • Experience in a similar role with demonstrated experience in program development and delivery
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the homelessness sector, including legislation, governance, policy, and processes

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily meet our pre-employment requirements. This includes:

  • Completion of a national criminal history check
  • A valid relevant state-based working with children permit.

Don’t meet every single requirement? At YWCA Australia we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If this role speaks to you but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway.

Please connect with us at any time during the recruitment process if you require assistance to fully participate.
