The Connected Beginnings program provides support to services who work with 0-5-year-old children and pregnant women. The program aims to connect children to the right services, connect the existing services in community to each other, and create new programs as led by the community. Connected Beginnings supports improved health and learning experiences for all children in Ngukurr to prepare them for school.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to design and deliver Connected Beginnings services for individuals and groups.
  • Assists the Connected Beginnings Program Manager with planning, organising, coordinating, and evaluating the various aspects of our Connected Beginnings program.
  • Act in the absence or unavailability of the Connected Beginnings Program Manager and provides administrative direction to other Connected Beginnings staff, as required under the program.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning and development of operational innovation through involvement in social services.
  • Commitment to a culture of evidence informed best practice, strong risk management and continuous improvement. Assist the Director of Social Services with planning, organizing, and managing the functions and services of YMDAC's Social Services Program as requested.
  • Successfully build and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships and work closely with, and promote involvement of community, executives, diverse groups, stake holders and individuals to identify and deliver services that meet the needs of the strategic vision goals and objectives of our Connected Beginnings program.
  • Preferred Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services/Social Science, Community Development, or Education related fields. YMDAC will consider applicants who can demonstrate other appropriate qualifications for the role.
  • Experience working with children and families in a similar role.
  • Well-developed written skills to prepare and deliver report writing in a timely manner.
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to undertake complex assessments and decisions making.
